Training

Since 1996 I’m Ph.D. in Economics and Business University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

In 1993 obtained the Master degree in Transport Economics at the University Carlos III of Madrid, in collaboration with the University of Leeds, UK.

In 1991 I graduated in Economics and Business at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

Professional Activities

I am currently:

Professor in the Department of Applied Economic Analysis. www.ulpgc.es. Public Policies and Microeconomics.

During the course 2004-05, I was visiting scholar at the Institute of Transportation Studies University of California-Berkeley. I was funded by the Salvador Madariaga program Department of Education and Science, Government of Spain.

In 2005 I was visiting professor in the teached at the Ph.D.’s program of the Institute of Transportation Studies University of California-Berkeley.

In 2003 I was visiting professor in the Master degree in Industrial Organisation at the University Carlos III of Madrid. I’ve been professor at the Ph.D. program in Economics, and the Master degree program in Economics, at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

I’ve been researcher at the EIET research group (Research Group in Transport and Infrastructure Economy).

I’ve been consultant for the World Bank, European Commission, Department of Transport and Economy of Spain, Department of Ports of the Spanish Government, and for the Canary Government. I’ve worked as senior research in project research funded by the European Commission, Department of Transport of Spain.

My research has been focused in Socioeconomic Appraisal of Public Policies, in efficiency analysis and estimation of cost functions. I’ve developed models for pricing and concessions of toll roads and the liberalization of the European airline market. Also I’m interested in natural and energetic resources and risk analysis of project investment.
